AAA's Statement: Diversity & Inclusion

DEI Resources,

It is difficult to find the right words to express the sadness and pain being felt across our country right now. We know that many in the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA) and their families are hurting and affected by the unrest currently taking place in many cities, including Atlanta.

AAA as an organization stands behind the principle of justice as all of you do, and believes that everyone deserves equal protections under the law, which hasn’t always been the case in our nation. Our business is rooted in the Fair Housing Act, which is based on the concept that all people should be treated equally.

While we don’t have all of the answers, we do know we have a lot of work to do to achieve these ideals in our country. We are blessed to be part of a community of deeply motivated human beings, and AAA and our members do our best to make progress every day.

Our sincere hope is for justice, peace, and continued healing from these current events (and history) that divide us. We are committed to holding ourselves accountable, and to listen, learn and improve.  We can do our part each day in the Apartment Industry by treating each resident, prospect, coworker, vendor, etc. with the fairness, respect, empathy, and love we all aspire to.

Let’s stand together as an industry and do our part for justice and healing, and continue to provide safe housing for our residents and families occupying our over 400,000 member units.
