Rob Gayle

Rob joined DLP Capital’s senior leadership team in November 2024 as President of Dream Live Prosper Communities, driving the strategic vision and operational excellence of DLP’s rapidly growing multifamily portfolio. Leading the Building Thriving Communities initiative, he collaborates with top talent in asset management, property management, and rehab construction to maximize asset value and elevate resident experiences. With over 25 years in multifamily real estate, Rob focuses on optimizing performance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring exceptional living environments as DLP expands into new and among existing markets.
Prior to DLP, Rob spent 14 years at Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. (NYSE: APTS), where he played a pivotal role in the company’s growth as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President. He helped lead a successful IPO in 2011, overseeing a portfolio that expanded to over $2.5 Billion in assets, generating $300+ Million in revenue, and $125 Million in NOI annually.
He co-founded Preferred Residential Management, LLC alongside industry leaders, John Williams (Founder of Post Properties, Inc.) and Bill Leseman (Founder of RAM Partners, LLC).
Based in Atlanta, GA, Rob is an active leader in the multifamily industry, serving as a Board Member for the Georgia Apartment Association, an Executive Board Member of the Atlanta Apartment Association, and Chair Elect for 2025. He is committed to operational excellence, strategic expansion, and resident-focused innovation with a heart to shape thriving residential communities nationwide.
Married for over 25 years, Rob enjoys making enduring memories with his family through travel and outdoor activities, including fly fishing, an experience made sweeter by the use of fishing gear manufactured by his family’s multi-generational company, Gayle Reels.
